The Joy of Ordinary

Vacation

Next week, DH and I are going on vacation. It’s been too long- especially since we’ve gone a vacation that didn’t include visiting family. I’m so excited I just can barely contain myself to get anything done.

We’re going to Oklahoma- which isn’t what most people think of as a vacation spot- but it’s a beautiful state. We actually had a hard time deciding where in Oklahoma to go. But, we settled in on Kiamichi Country. . . We’ll go to Heavener, Robber’s Cave, Beaver’s Bend, and the Talimena Scenic Byway. . . or so we think we’ll make it to those places- and may make it to other places. This is a trip to get away and spend some time in nature.

So this is a video about the area:

(I think, I’m nearly sure, this video is narrated by a Genealogist that I’ve seen speak on a number of occassions. I’ve emailed him in hopes of confirming my suspicion.)

This is Robber’s Cave. . . we’ve never been there and it’s really our first destination. We’ll be staying in that lodge the first night (and camping the rest.) The rates are really reasonable and if you watch the entire video, you’ll see the wonderful view- right on the edge of the mountain. We actually have one of the rooms with the mountain view.

I’m just so super excited. I’ll be taking lots of pictures.
