As mentioned I’ve been wanting to take more photos. And Saturday, I had quite an opportunity to do just that. I also mentioned that as of late The Pioneer Woman’s blog has been a source of photography inspiration. Saturday was one of those times I truly recognized it.
The spots on the deer lease where my husband hunts are scheduled to be clear-cut some time soon. (Clear Cut means that the timber company that own the land is going to cut nearly everything in site except for portions near the creeks). I wanted to get some pictures of the stand we dubbed “my stand”. Oh, I have pictures from there. . . lots of them. . . . only they all look from the deer blind where I sit to the deer feeder. It doesn’t get the rest of the woods around it. So, that was the plan for Saturday.
The weather was beautiful and we drove and walked around the lease underneath the most glorious blue sky. I twas a really great day. It wasn’t without a small bit of work. DH wanted to remove some stakes and take a part part of a hog trap. So, while he messed with the hog trap, I wandered up and down the lanes. In the springtime, when we review available stand sites, we stop along the way to take pictures of flowers. . . We call it the Girly Artsy-Fartsy moments. DH is always willing to stop so I can take the pictures I want. Well, it seems, without the flowers, I found mushrooms to take pictures of. I added to the collection I had from the last trip I made out there.
As I wandered I turned the corner to walk back to DH, what did I find????
I had to take some pictures.
I started laughing. The great thing is that in the woods, no one can hear you. I instantly thought back to this Pioneer Woman post.
Later I was able to snap a few pictures of DH and I’s shadows together.
