Wednesday Talkin’

Wednesday Talkin’

So, I’ve been wanting to post an update to my last post about our adoption path but I’ve been wanting to add a picture that’s still not online yet.  I’ve decided to go ahead and post an update and I’ll add the picture later. Last Wednesday, we were able to talk to the caseworker for Ricky and James.  We had four page (double spaced) list of questions that we came up with over the weekend.  She spent an hour...

Waiting while on a Rollercoaster Ride

Imagine riding on a rollercoaster ride, then stopping just before a particularly fun, scary, or thrilling moment. . . Or perhaps hanging upside down. . . or just before your chance to get off the rollercoaster ride. Imagine all the thoughts and feelings that you would have.   That’s how I’m feeling these days as we go through what we expect to be the last year on our adoption rollercoaster ride. Last Friday, we got some news about...

Sharing a Name

When Billy and Mandi told me the name of their little angel, I was just about in tears.  I managed to hold them until we left the hospital Sunday morning.  I don’t have any notion that they actually named her first name after me.  In fact, I would have never dreamed of naming a child “Amy”.  Growing up there were always so many Amy’s that I’d wished I had another name- something softer.  But, all of sudden,...

Welcoming Amy Lynn

Welcoming Amy Lynn

Billy and Mandi had their litle one this weekend.  What a beautiful bundle of joy! Billy called us Saturday to tell us that Mandi went into labor.  We told him we’d be there either before church or right after church Sunday.  We left the house Sunday hoping that they really were having a girl, wondering if the little one had arrived yet, and what her name would be. We were in love with the little one from the moment we arrived. ...

Dead-Eye is Ready to Hunt

Dead-Eye is Ready to Hunt

As Lisa told Jack he would be coming up the weekend before last, Jack told his mother that he knew this weekend would be the weekend that Cody let him shoot the .243. Of course, he was right.  Jack has been bred a hunter.  Cody and Jack fed the deer when he was just a little guy.  Poor Jack, at the age of 2-4 thought that seeing deer was as easy as throwing corn out for them.  It almost always worked for him.  In the past three or so...

God’s Blessings

God’s Blessings

This beautiful woman, Mandy, and her husband Billy are expecting a baby girl soon.  Cody and I could not be happier for them.  Billy is our best college friend, Bennie’s, little brother.  When we moved back up here to East Texas we lived with Bennie for quite some time with Billy and his parents just down the road.  We became really close to Billy in that time.  We often wonder why we ever moved from that little bit of heaven.  We...

About Me

Welcome! Hi all! I live in rural East Texas with my husband. I'm passionate about telling our everyday and rather ordinary story through words and pictures here on my blog and on my digitally scrapbooked pages. Geek. Creative. Problem Solver. Traditional. Introverted. Those are all words that you might use to describe me. I love to have fun while stilling keeping it calm and simple.

My thoughts

Some people say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. It might take a 1,000 words to describe the scenery in a picture- but it takes less than a 1,000 words to tell the true story shown in a picture. I've heard others say the picture tells the story. But, the truth is no picture tells the whole story. No picture answers all the questions. Honestly, I think pictures breed questions that beg to be answered.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
