Me, Myself, and I

Teacher and Student

Teacher and Student

Last month, I took a class at Jessica Sprague called Photo Editing: Frame-ups and Special Effects.  It was a lot of fun to step outside of my box and do things to photographs that I don’t typically do. . . it’s just not really my preference or style.  This month, I’m taking the Brush*Abilities class at Jessica Sprague.  It’s been some more fun experimenting and learning.  Although during the last class, I really...

Going with the Creative Flow

Here lately, I’ve been feeling very creative.  I’ve also been getting some diverse projects I’ve been wanting to do out of my head and off my to do lists.  Somedays, the creativity just flows.  These are times that you just have to ride the wave.  Last Friday night, I think I was on creative overload.  I normally am an early to bed kind of girl.  My head was swirling with ideas about a project I couldn’t wait to...

Let it Rain!

“Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.” ~ Author Unknown I love the rain; I always have.  When Cody and I graduated from college we moved to Corpus Christi where he was from.  It nearly never rained. . . (and the way those folks drove in the rain, you can tell they have no clue what they are doing in rain.) About a year and a half after we moved down there, I had gone to the post office for work. ...

Baseball: Around the Bases

This year has renewed my love for baseball.  It feels much like a full circle year. The Royals won the World Series in 1985.  It was the first time, I ever remember, my parents watching sports- other than racing.  My parents and I were all born in Kansas City.  And, of course, it was the I-70 series.  It was a big deal even if we lived in Texas.  I don’t remember the games, but I remember watching them, the excitement in the air,...

What’s Your Name, Little Girl?

Ok, I promise I won’t talk about my new little neice throughout this post.  It’s really a post about me.  But, the idea to write this post came when Billy and Mandi asked me at the hospital what my middle name was and I answered them the best way I could. . . . I don’t know. You might enjoy the explanation as much as they did.  If not, sorry to waste your time. I was to be named for some Mac Davis song about Emily Suzanne. ...

Books?

Books?

I’ve never been much of a reader.  Most of the books I’ve read are children’s books. I do have a thing for kids picture books. They seem to be the best stories. Adult fictional books don’t really do it for me.  If I’m going to read a grown-up book, I tend to go for autobiographies more than anything else.  But, mind you, I’m not into celebrity and so the field of potential books grows even smaller.  But,...

About Me

Welcome! Hi all! I live in rural East Texas with my husband. I'm passionate about telling our everyday and rather ordinary story through words and pictures here on my blog and on my digitally scrapbooked pages. Geek. Creative. Problem Solver. Traditional. Introverted. Those are all words that you might use to describe me. I love to have fun while stilling keeping it calm and simple.

My thoughts

I think when we can take off our photographer hat- the one that judges our photos- while we're scrapbooking, we're happier and better scrapbookers because we're not bound by photography rules/critiques but rather simply the very reason we scrapbook.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
